September 26, 2017 Agenda

We're back! What great things will we discover this year?

Our schedule for the year. Join our Remind for weekly reminders.

Upcoming events that we will lead or support. This may change as the year progresses.

Club t-shirts will be paid for by club dues (see above photo). Shirts are to be worn whenever you are representing Media Medics. Order will go in next week -- place your order on this form by next meeting.

Would't it be great if SMS had a 3D printer? Let's brainstorm how we can help make that happen.

Who would you like to learn from? Let's consider possible guest speakers, Skype chats, or other industry connections.

Let's discuss what we want to do this year. Some suggestions for teams:
  • Coding: Hour of Code is coming... let's be ready to support activities during advisory.
  • Esports: If we can't find another school to dominate in Rocket League, we'll play against one another.
  • Explorers: Experiment with new edtech tools, help Mrs. Bond share the best finds with teachers.
  • Robotics: There is a competition coming -- we can use Sphero or Lego Mindstorm.
  • Support: Learn about school tech and be able to help your teachers and classmates.
  • Video: Develop and create videos to share with the school community. (Have an idea for something we can do at the elementary school.) There is also a video contest coming this winter -- it ends with a red carpet and viewing party!
  • Website: Continue with the blog format, go with Google Sites, or build our own?
  • Anything else? This is your club -- what would you like to accomplish this year?

There is one advisor and a lot of you. Team leaders will be appointed to support team members, begin researching questions, and communicate team needs to Mrs. Bond. This can be a great opportunity for students seeking leadership experience. This is not a chance to be bossy. :)

Sphero Battlebots?!

Happy Summer!

Although our club is enjoying summer break, that doesn't mean our exploring has to stop.  Media Medics... does this look like something we could do with our Sphero? What tools or materials will we need? What would the competition look like?
